Make an upholstered footstool with storage

DAY CLASS BEGINNER OR INTERMEDIATE
Learn to make a footstool with storage and an upholstered top. This project is built using 18mm Birch Veneered Ply and uses techniques of biscuit and pocket hole joinery. It is a great way to not only learn different joinery skills and learn how to use different power tools, but you also get to take home a project that will get plenty of use or could be a terrific gift for a loved one.

  • Learn to make and construct a footstool.
  • Learn to make an upholstered top.

  • You will need to bring half square meter of a fabric of your choice, please.
  • 2″ thick foam (400mm x 400mm)
  • Wadding (400mm x 400mm)

Please note that the foam and wadding can be purchased at the woodshop, prices are below but bring your fabric.

General information for your visit

Please wear clothes suitable for dusty work, sensible shoes, and your own lunch. There is a local shop nearby if you wish to buy lunch or you can bring a packed lunch with you. Tea and coffee is provided at lunch.

If you have some of your own tools and would like to learn how to use them properly, then you are welcome to bring them and use them on the course. We have a fully equipped workshop so there is no need to bring anything, but some students like to bring their own.
